(2014-04-26 KA SABAQ) Good Character & A Safe Tongue

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons advice us to have a good character and a good tongue , The natural result of belief is good deeds; the two are inseparable. They complement each other. Belief is the basic foundation upon which good character and a good Muslim develops. If belief is weak or shaky, then only a weak personality may emerge. On the contrary, if the foundation of belief is strong, then good conduct and behaviour will follow and exihibit.
Anas bin Maalik Radiyallahu 'Anhu says:
"I remained in the service (of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam for ten years. He never once told me 'Oof'. When I did something, he never asked me, why did you do so? When I did not do a certain task, he never asked me why I did not do it. Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam had the best character among all people. (and also possessed the most excellent features, so much so,) that I never felt a silk cloth, nor pure silk, nor any other thing softer than the palm of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam. Nor did I smell any musk or any other fragrance, more sweet smelling than the sweat of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam".

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There was a merchant who used to lend the people, and whenever his debtor was in straitened circumstances, he would say to his employees, 'Forgive him so that Allah may forgive us.' So, Allah forgave him."

On the authority of Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
I said, “O Messenger of Allah(ﷺ), tell me of an act which will take me into Paradise and will keep me away from the Hellfire.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “You have asked me about a great matter, yet it is easy for him for whom Allah makes it easy: worship Allah, without associating any partners with Him; establish the prayer; pay the zakat; fast in Ramadhan; and make the pilgrimage to the House.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not guide you towards the means of goodness? Fasting is a shield; charity wipes away sin as water extinguishes fire; and the praying of a man in the depths of the night.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited: “[Those] who forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah’s cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.” [as-Sajdah, 16-17] Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not inform you of the head of the matter, its pillar and its peak?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer and its peak is jihad.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you of the foundation of all of that?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” So he took hold of his tongue and said, “Restrain this.” I said, “O Prophet of Allah, will we be taken to account for what we say with it?” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “May your mother be bereaved of you, O Muadh! Is there anything that throws people into the Hellfire upon their faces — or: on their noses — except the harvests of their tongues?”

Sufyan bin ‘Abdullah Thaqafi Radiyallahu 'Anhu said:
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , tell me of something that I can adhere to.’ He said: ‘Say: “Allah is my Lord,” then stand straight (adhere steadfastly to Islam).’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that you fear most for me?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of his own tongue, then he said: ‘This.’”

Note : This sinner has a poor command on English language & is not able to exactly write (express) Maulana's Talk. Its just a small effort for my Bro and Sis who are not familiar with Urdu language to give them a summarize details about the lesson and get benefits from Maulana Lessons.
