(2014-05-01 KA SABAQ) Umar Ibn al-Khattab & a man who deviated to sin.

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lesson as promised while delivering his lesson yesterday  narrate us the incident related to Umar Ibn al-Khattab & a man who deviated to sin.
A letter from the Caliph Umar Ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) to a man who deviated to sin and began drinking alcohol.
"From:Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)
To: So so and so (Identity of person concealed)
Peace be upon you.  I praise Allah beside Whom there is no other god.
In the Name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
Ha. Mim.The Bestowal from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the All-Knowing,forgiving sins and accepting repentance, severe in retribution, limitless in His bounty. There is no deity save Him: with Him is all journeys’ end."
Then he sealed the letter and said to his messenger, "Do not give it him except when he is sober."  Then he commanded those who we with him to pray for his repentance. When the letter reached the man he started to read it and said, "My Lord has promised to forgive me and has warned me of His punishment," and he kept repeating it until he wept. Then he gave up wine and kept away from it. When 'Umar, heard of that he said, "This is what you should do. If you see that one of you has slipped, correct him, pray for him and do not help Shaytan against him (by insulting him, etc.)."

Maulana advised us the same method to be followed when we see somebody deviated to sin, if not possible to write a letter at least read the contents of the letter above.

(2014-04-30 KA SABAQ) Exalted Standard of Character(Continuation of (2014-04-26,27,28,29 KA SABAQ))

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
(Continuation of (2014-04-26,27,28,29 KA SABAQ))
Maulana in his todays lessons quote us a Verse from Surah Al-Qalam 68:4 ,  Allah(subhana wa ta’ala) described the Prophet (ﷺ) in the verse (which means):
68:4 And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character
Prophet (ﷺ) educated the Ummah with all the excellent qualities of character in a practical manner , Maulana narrates us a incident mentioned in the Hadith books  " One day the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) had a lot of guests at home. Jarir Ibn `Abdullah ( who at this time happened to be a non-believer) entered the house but could not find a place to sit. So, he had to sit outside. Seeing this, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) spread his shirt for him to sit on. Jarir picked up the shirt with tears in his eyes put it on his face and kissed it and accepted Islam ."
Maulana continues his lesson saying , the moral character which Prophet (ﷺ) taught us is now missing in our lives , we need to change ourselves . We should not HATE THE SINNER BUT THE SIN . We need to bring ourselves close to the general masses , lower and blend ourselves amongst them. To scrutinize and spread the faults of people is not a road which will bring about reformation , Rather mischief will be created in this ummah.
Maulana also mention the incident of Umar (May Allah be pleased with him)  and the elderly man

(2014-04-29 KA SABAQ) Good Character & To Earn Sustenance( lawful and pure) (Continuation of (2014-04-26,27,28 KA SABAQ))

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons quote us a hadith related to the topic of Good character and also discuss in depth about methods of earnings , he further continues saying that the reason behind laziness , lack of energy and enthusiasm while reading Quran , Prayer ... is because of acquiring haraaam wealth. We shall rid ourselves from this burden of sin in order to acheive the pleasure of paradise.
Hadith related to the topic of Good character :
'Abdullah ibn 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "There are four qualities such that if you were to be given them, you will not be harmed even if the world were to be taken away from you. They are:
  1. good character,
  2. restraint in food
  3. truthful words,
  4. and upholding a trust.
Source Reference :  Al-Adab Al-Mufrad Book 14, Hadith 288.

Maulana advice us to be fearful of succeeding in the wrong endeavors. When people disobey Allah (subhana wa ta’ala), He sometimes opens the doors of bounties in this world but cuts them off from the eternal rewards of Paradise and always ask for permissible Rizq (Tayyab and Halal). Toil for it. Exhibit patience and advise your family to do the same. Be extremely thankful to Allah (subhana wa ta’ala ) for what He has granted and what He has withheld, as there is a divine reason for it that only He knows.
Related to his advice Maulana quote us a hadith as mention below :
It was narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her ) that when the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam ) performed the Subh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say: ‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds).’”

(2014-04-27 KA SABAQ) Good Character (Continuation of (2014-04-26 KA SABAQ))

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Continuation of  (2014-04-26 KA SABAQ))

Yahya (may Allah be pleased with him) related to me from Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) from Suhayl ibn Abi Salih (may Allah be pleased with him) from his father from Abu Hurayra  (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The doors of the Garden are opened on Monday and Thursday. Every muslim slave who does not associate anything with Allah is forgiven except for the man who has enmity between him and his brother. It is said, 'Leave these two until they have made a reconciliation. Leave these two until they have made a reconciliation.' "
Reference : Muwatta Malik

Abu Hurairah ( may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Avoid jealousy between yourselves, do not outbid one another (with a view to raising the price), do not harbor hatred against one another, do not bear enmity against one another, one of you should not enter into a transaction when the other has already entered into it; and be fellow brothers and slaves of Allah. A Muslim is a Muslim’s brother. He does not wrong, desert or despise him. Piety is found here (pointing three times to his chest), despising his Muslim brother is enough evil for any man to do. Every Muslim’s blood, property and honor are unlawful to be violated by another Muslim.” Related by Muslim.

(2014-04-26 KA SABAQ) Good Character & A Safe Tongue

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons advice us to have a good character and a good tongue , The natural result of belief is good deeds; the two are inseparable. They complement each other. Belief is the basic foundation upon which good character and a good Muslim develops. If belief is weak or shaky, then only a weak personality may emerge. On the contrary, if the foundation of belief is strong, then good conduct and behaviour will follow and exihibit.
Anas bin Maalik Radiyallahu 'Anhu says:
"I remained in the service (of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam for ten years. He never once told me 'Oof'. When I did something, he never asked me, why did you do so? When I did not do a certain task, he never asked me why I did not do it. Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam had the best character among all people. (and also possessed the most excellent features, so much so,) that I never felt a silk cloth, nor pure silk, nor any other thing softer than the palm of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam. Nor did I smell any musk or any other fragrance, more sweet smelling than the sweat of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam".
Reference : Shama'il Muhammadiyah
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There was a merchant who used to lend the people, and whenever his debtor was in straitened circumstances, he would say to his employees, 'Forgive him so that Allah may forgive us.' So, Allah forgave him."
Reference : Sahih al-Bukhari .

On the authority of Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
I said, “O Messenger of Allah(ﷺ), tell me of an act which will take me into Paradise and will keep me away from the Hellfire.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “You have asked me about a great matter, yet it is easy for him for whom Allah makes it easy: worship Allah, without associating any partners with Him; establish the prayer; pay the zakat; fast in Ramadhan; and make the pilgrimage to the House.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not guide you towards the means of goodness? Fasting is a shield; charity wipes away sin as water extinguishes fire; and the praying of a man in the depths of the night.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited: “[Those] who forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah’s cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.” [as-Sajdah, 16-17] Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not inform you of the head of the matter, its pillar and its peak?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is the prayer and its peak is jihad.” Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you of the foundation of all of that?” I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” So he took hold of his tongue and said, “Restrain this.” I said, “O Prophet of Allah, will we be taken to account for what we say with it?” He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “May your mother be bereaved of you, O Muadh! Is there anything that throws people into the Hellfire upon their faces — or: on their noses — except the harvests of their tongues?”
Reference : 40 Hadith Nawawi 29
Sufyan bin ‘Abdullah Thaqafi Radiyallahu 'Anhu said:
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , tell me of something that I can adhere to.’ He said: ‘Say: “Allah is my Lord,” then stand straight (adhere steadfastly to Islam).’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that you fear most for me?’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of his own tongue, then he said: ‘This.’”

(2014-04-25 KA SABAQ) Allah,Most High say: "Be" and it shall be.'"

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons advice us that  we should not hesitate to ask of Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). We should also know that nobody besides Him has the power to grant anybody anything. People only become the channels. The Bestower is always only Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). His speech is enough to bring about all events. To explain the advice Maulana quote us the hadith mention below
Abu Dharr  (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah  (ﷺ) said:
"Allah,Most High said: 'O My Slaves! All of you are astray except whom I guide, so ask Me for guidance and I shall guide you. All of you are poor except whom I enrich, so ask Me and I shall provide you. All of you are sinners except whom I have pardoned, so whoever among you knows that I am the One able to forgive, and seeks My forgiveness, I shall forgive him, without concern for Me (and it will not affect Me). If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together to help the heart with the most Taqwa among My slaves, that would not add a mosquito's wing to My sovereignty. If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together to help the worst heart of My slaves, that would not diminish a mosquito's wing to My sovereignty. I Will forgive him, without concern for Me (and it will not affect Me). If the first of you and the last of you, the living among you and the dead among you, the fresh among you and the dry among you were to gather together upon one plateau, and each person among them were to ask for his utmost desire, and I were to give each what he asked for, that would not diminish from My sovereignty, except as if one of you were to pass by an ocean and dip a needle into it and then remove it. That is because I am the Most Liberal without need, the Most Generous, doing as I will. I give by My speech and I punish by My speech, whenever I will something I only say: "Be" and it shall be.'"

(2014-04-24 KA SABAQ) Seven (7) things Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) advised Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) to do.

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons quote us a hadith in which Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) advised Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him)  , Maulana continue his talk saying this advices were not limited to Hadrat Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) but to all in general .
The Hadith is as follows :
Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) once sat down talking to people and said, ‘My friend ( Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)) advised me to do seven(7) things:
  1. He asked me to love the poor and to get closer to them.
  2. He asked me to look to those who are inferior and not to those who are superior.
  3. He asked me never to ask anyone for anything (i.e. to abstain from begging).
  4. He asked me to be kind to my relatives.
  5. He asked me to say the truth, no matter how sour it may be.
  6. He asked me never to be afraid of a critic’s censure.
  7. *And he asked me to frequently say, ‘There is no power nor might except Allah’s.’

(Continuation of (2014-04-22 KA SABAQ))
Maulana in his todays lessons advise us not to go on a witch hunt looking after other people’s faults. If we see or hear someone committing a sin, Instead of spreading it, we should hide it and keep it a secret as their is a big reward in this act. with reference to the reward maulana narrates us the mention hadith below :
Narrated Uqbah ibn Amir (May Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: He who sees something which should be kept hidden and conceals it will be like one who has brought to life a girl buried alive.
[Source :Sunan Abi Dawud]

Abu'l-Haytham (May Allah be pleased with him) said, "Some people came to 'Uqba ibn 'Amir (May Allah be pleased with him) and said, 'We have some neighbours who drink (wine) and behave incorrectly. Shall we bring them before the ruler?' 'No,' he replied, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "Whoever sees the fault of a Muslim and then veils it, it is as if he brought girl buried alive back to life from her grave.''"

Maulana in his todays lessons tell us hadith related to the rewards of the good deeds that will reach a believer after his death.
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The rewards of the good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are:
  1. Knowledge which he taught and spread;
  2. a righteous son whom he leaves behind;
  3. a copy of the Qur'an that he leaves as a legacy;
  4. a mosque that he built;
  5. a house that he built for wayfarers;
  6. a canal that he dug;
  7. or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health.
These deeds will reach him after his death.'"
And one more hadith related to it ..
'Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him)narrated that his father said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)  said: 'The best things that a man can leave behind are three: A righteous son who will pray for him, ongoing charity whose reward will reach him, and knowledge which is acted upon after his death.'"

Anas ibn Malik  (May Allah be pleased with him)  said, "A woman came to 'A'isha  (May Allah be pleased with her) and 'A'isha  (May Allah be pleased with her) gave her three dates. She gave each of her two children a date and kept one date for herself. The children ate the two dates and then looked at their mother. (2014-04-12 KA SABAQ) Upholding ties of kinship

Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).
Maulana in his todays lessons advice us upholding the ties of kinship ,as  Muslim's kindness, respect and good treatment are not limited just to his parents, spouse and children, but extend to his relatives, all of whom he should treat well.
Upholding the ties of kinship is one of the major principles of Islam, one of the fundamentals that this religion has promoted from the first day the Prophet (ﷺ) began to preach his message. It is one of the most characteristic features of Islamic law.
In this lesson of the most important principles of Islam, the Prophet (ﷺ) clearly gave precedence to upholding the ties of kinship and mentioned it among the foremost features of the faith. This is indicative of its high status in the framework of this religion which Allah has revealed as a mercy to the Worlds.
A man said, 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , tell me of a good deed that will grant me entrance to Paradise.' The Prophet (ﷺ)  said, 'Worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish regular prayer, pay zakah and uphold the ties of kinship.'
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever would like his rizq (provision) to be increased and his life to be extended, should uphold the ties of kinship.'
Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "Whoever fears his Rabb and upholds the ties of kinship, his life will be extended, his wealth will increase and his family will love him more.
Maulana Summarize the rewards for upholding the ties of kinship
  1. brings blessing in a man's Rizq(Provision) .

Note : This sinner has a poor command on English language & is not able to exactly write (express) Maulana's Talk. Its just a small effort for my Bro and Sis who are not familiar with Urdu language to give them a summarize details about the lesson and get benefits from Maulana Lessons.
