Daily Lesson In URDU By Hazrat Maulana Yunus Palanpuri (D.B)

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh"  (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you).

Maulana in his todays lessons advice us to keep names of our children mentioned in Quran or as advised by Prophet (ﷺ), in relation to this Maulana narrates us a hadith 

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah  (May Allah be pleased with him):

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If I survive (God willing), I shall forbid my people to give the names Nafi' (beneficial), Aflah (successful) and Barakah (blessing). Al-A'mash said: I do not know whether he mentioned Nafi' or not. When a man comes and asks: Is there Barakah (blessing)? The people say: No. Abu Dawud said: A similar tradition has been transmitted by Abu al-Zubair on the authority of Jabir from the Prophet (ﷺ) through a different chain of narrators. This version has no mention of Barakah.

'Ali (May Allah be pleased with him)  said, "When al-Husayn was born, I named him Harb (war). The Prophet came and said, 'Show me your son. What have you named him?' 'Harb,' we replied. He said, "He is Hasan.' When al-Husayn was born, I named him Harb. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came and said, 'Show me your son. What have you named him?' 'Harb,' we replied. He said, "He is Husayn.' When we had a third son, I named him Harb. The Prophet (ﷺ), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came and said, 'Show me your son. What have you named him?' 'Harb,' we replied. He (ﷺ) said, "He is Muhassin." Then he (ﷺ) said, 'I have named them according to the names of the sons of Harun: Shabr, Shubayr, and Mushabbir.'"

Narrated Al-Musaiyab:

That his father (Hazn bin Wahb) went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and the Prophet (ﷺ) asked (him), "What is your name?" He replied, "My name is Hazn." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You are Sahl." Hazn said, "I will not change the name with which my father has named me." Ibn Al-Musaiyab added: We have had roughness (in character) ever since.

Narrated Sa`id bin Al-Musaiyab:
